Tanachira x GC YOU Turn: Circular Waste to Worth. A collaborative initiative by Tanachira, HARNN, PTT Global Chemical (GC), and YOU Turn
This initiative aims to advance sustainable plastic waste management through the principles of the Circular Economy, Social Impact, and the shared journey toward Net Zero. The collaboration between HARNN and GC marks an important milestone in enhancing resource management efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and maximizing resource utilization.
As the project moves forward, dedicated plastic collection points will be installed within the organization, encouraging both employees and customers to participate in properly sorting and returning PET and HDPE plastic waste. The YOU Turn plastic waste management system, developed by GC, will serve as the core mechanism for collecting, transporting, and channeling the plastic waste into a systematic recycling process.
To date, the project has collected a total of 40.3 kilograms of plastic waste, equivalent to approximately 806 plastic bottles. This has helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 41.76 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kgCO2e), comparable to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by trees over the same period. The collected plastic waste will then be processed and transformed into upcycled products, creating new value from used materials while driving the circular economy forward in a tangible and sustainable way.
