Environmental
30 June 2026

The Zero-Waste Spa Operation Initiative is designed to reduce waste generation and enhance the efficient use of raw materials across spa operations. The initiative aims to minimize waste arising from spa services, particularly organic waste and single-use packaging, by focusing on waste reduction at every stage of the value chain—from upstream raw materials, storage, and customer service processes to post-use waste management.

Key Activities

1. Material Optimization

  • Reformulation of massage oils, scrubs, and masks to align with actual usage quantities per treatment, reducing excess consumption.
  • Systematic product storage with proper recording of opening dates and adherence to hygienic storage practices to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.

2. Refill and Reuse System

  • Adoption of bulk-size and refillable products in place of retail packaging to reduce packaging waste and promote circular use of materials.

3. Environmental Awareness and Employee Engagement

  • Implementation of waste segregation systems within spa pantries and operational areas.
  • Regular training programs to enhance employee awareness and capability in proper waste management practices.

Outcomes Achieved

  • 50% reduction in single-use packaging waste
  • 80% reduction in product wastage, including massage oils and scrubs
  • 15–20% reduction in treatment product costs

Expected Business and Social Benefits

  • Strengthening the HARNN brand positioning as an environmentally responsible spa business
  • Long-term reduction in operational costs
  • Enhancing customer experience through more meaningful and value-driven service delivery
